Sharpe, Virginia Banta

March 13, 1917-Dec. 31, 2006

Virginia Ruth Sharpe, 89, Plainfield and formerly of Waveland, died 9:15 p .m. Sunday at Plainfield Health Care Center.

Mrs. Sharpe was a librarian at Waveland Brown Township Public Library for 15 years, worked for WCVL at Crawfordsville for 10 years and helped her husband in Sharpe's Variety Store at Waveland.

Her memberships included Plainfield United Methodist Church.

She was born March 13, 1917, at Linden to Theron S. and Etta Marcrum Banta. She graduated from Waveland High School in 1935 and attended Washington Academy of Art. She married Wilmer T. Sharpe May 23, 1938, at Waveland. He died on Jan. 5, 1969.

Survivors include daughter Pamela (David) Bloomer, Plainfield; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by brother Myron Banta.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Friday at Machledt & Servies Funeral Home, 301 E. Green St., Waveland. Burial will be at Maple Ridge Cemetery, Waveland. Friends may call 4-7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Note: I loved this lady - so gentle, kind, help ya' pick a book, discuss books with you.  A real sweetheart!  I'd try real hard to go in the library when Virginia was  there as the other librarian during part of her time was a grim reaper :(
